At Solace Hospice Care, we understand that grief often begins long before a loved one passes. Many patients and family members experience anticipatory grief—the deep sense of loss that comes when preparing to say goodbye. This stage can bring feelings of sadness, anxiety, guilt, or even relief, all of which are natural and valid.
After a loved one dies, grief can feel even more overwhelming and difficult to navigate. That’s why we offer grief support and counseling to families and caregivers for up to 18 months following death.
Grief is a deeply personal journey, and no two people experience it the same way. Our team provides a safe and compassionate space to talk through these emotions—whether they arise before or after a loss—helping families recognize that every feeling has meaning and that healing is possible with support.
We believe no one should walk this path alone. Our support staff are here through regular check-ins, individual counseling, and group sessions. We also provide resources and educational materials to help patients and caregivers understand anticipatory grief, the stages of loss, and healthy coping strategies. By offering continued support well beyond the patient’s passing, we ensure that families feel cared for, understood, and never forgotten.
Our bereavement counselors each have a background in counseling or grief support.
