Our Story
Solace Hospice Care was born from a shared vision between two women—Lauren Hadfield and Julie Vermilye—who knew there had to be a better way to care for people at the end of life.
After years of working in healthcare and witnessing the gaps in hospice care, we felt a deep calling to create something different: a place where patients are always at the center, and compassion leads the way.
In 2019, we took a leap of faith and founded Solace Hospice Care—an independent, locally owned hospice built from the ground up with heart, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people we serve.
Backed by a team with decades of combined experience, we’ve had the profound honor of caring for thousands of patients and families in our community. What sets Solace apart isn’t just what we do—it’s how we do it. We hire only the best: caregivers who treat every patient as if they were their own family, and who show up every day with empathy, grace, and love.
